The Theology of Mental Health
This programme will begin by exploring our Unitarian theology of inclusiveness and the inherent worth and dignity of all. Richard will increase our fluency – our understanding of mental health – in a way we can understand it better.
We’ll explore how to react when we experience a mental health crisis in our congregations and ways to support people experiencing mental health issues. We’ll focus on protective factors which are the structures and supports to maintain good mental health for people in our congregations and spend time on the idea of a covenant of right relations.
Note that those attending will not be asked to reveal or share their own struggles with and stories of mental health. The programme is about how to support those in our congregations and how to keep them safe, healthy, and remain in the circle of fellowship.
